Port Huron, Mich. — St. Clair County Community College freshman forward/center Kyrieona Carter has added another prestigious honor to an extraordinary season, earning NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American recognition for her outstanding performance during the 2025–26 women's basketball campaign.
Carter's All-America selection caps one of the most dominant individual seasons in SC4 women's basketball history. The freshman established herself as one of the premier post players in the nation, combining efficiency on offense with elite rebounding and rim protection on the defensive end.
During the season, Carter averaged 13.8 points and 13.2 rebounds per game, shooting 51.2 percent from the field while anchoring the Skippers inside. She finished among the national leaders in total rebounds and blocks, recording 410 total rebounds, 65 blocked shots, and adding 44 steals to her stat line. Carter scored 427 points on the year and posted multiple double-doubles, consistently impacting games on both ends of the floor.
Her season was highlighted by a record-tying 46-point performance against Oakland Community College, a night in which she also pulled down 15 rebounds. That effort helped earn Carter NJCAA National Player of the Week honors, one of several weekly awards she collected throughout the year, including multiple MCCAA Eastern Conference Player of the Week selections.
In addition to her All-America honor, Carter received a long list of postseason accolades:
· Eastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year
· First Team All-Eastern Conference
· Eastern Conference All-Freshman Team
· All-MCCAA
· All-Region
Carter's impact went beyond the box score, helping guide the Skippers through a strong conference season and postseason run while setting a high standard for the program's future.
The NJCAA Third Team All-American honor places Carter among the top players in Division II women's basketball nationwide and underscores a freshman season that ranks among the best in SC4 history.
