Port Huron, MI. — The St. Clair County Community College (SC4) Skippers women's basketball team delivered a dominant all‑around performance on Saturday, defeating Wayne County Community College 69–47 at home to remain unbeaten in MCCAA Eastern Conference play.
The win moves SC4 to 14–6 overall and 5–0 in conference, continuing the team's strong midseason surge. The Skippers controlled the game on both ends of the floor, using balanced scoring, aggressive defense, and a strong first half to pull away.
Three Skippers scored double figures:
- Soleil DeJesus led all scorers with 16 points while pulling down 9 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists.
- Kyrieona Carter added in 14 points with a game high 16 rebounds. She also sent away 6 shots.
- Sylver Bowles rounded out the double figure scorers with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.
The Skippers' defense frustrated the Wildcats throughout the afternoon, holding them to 27.8% shooting and just 7.1% from three.
SC4 won the rebounding battle decisively (62-55) and forced Wayne County into long possessions and tough contested looks. The Skippers first half set the tone for the game, taking a 39-19 lead into the break.
The strong home win keeps SC4 atop the MCCAA East standings as the team pushes deeper into conference play.
They host a matchup against the other undefeated team, Schoolcraft College, on Saturday, January 31 at 1:00 PM.
