Matias Rideau Named MCCAA Goalkeeper of the Week

PORT HURON, Mich. — St. Clair County Community College freshman goalkeeper Matias Rideau has been named MCCAA Goalkeeper of the Week, recognizing his outstanding performance in net for the Skippers men's soccer team.

Rideau, who hails from Saint Just en Chaussée, France, has been a cornerstone of SC4's defense throughout the season. His recent efforts helped secure a shutout victory over Schoolcraft College, clinching the MCCAA Eastern Conference championship for the Skippers in just their second season. With a save percentage of .842 and multiple clean sheets, Rideau's consistency and leadership have been instrumental in SC4's rise to a No. 19 national ranking in NJCAA Division II.

"Matias has been phenomenal all season," said SC4 head coach Brian Alumbaugh. "His calm presence and ability to make big saves in key moments have given our team the confidence to play aggressively."

SC4 now prepares for the NJCAA Region 12 Tournament, with Rideau anchoring a defense that has become one of the most formidable in the conference.
