Port Huron, Mich. — The St. Clair County Community College baseball team delivered an impressive performance Monday night, sweeping a doubleheader against Ohio Valley Community Christian College at Sanborn Park with decisive 20–1 and 11–4 victories.
In the opener, the Skippers' offense erupted early and never slowed, scoring six runs in the first inning and cruising to a 20–1 win. SC4 racked up 14 hits and capitalized on steady pressure throughout the contest. Multiple hitters turned in strong nights at the plate, Cooper Letson, Trey Taylor, and Will Wiegand all delivered a home run for the Skippers. Cooper Letson led the bunch with six RBIs while Taylor knocked in four, Wiegand had 3, Dylan Isrow was responsible for two, and Drew Hosterman added in one for good measure.
On the mound, starting pitcher Camden Townsend set the tone by working five strong innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out seven to earn the win. The defense supported the effort by limiting scoring chances and keeping control of the game from first pitch to last.
The nightcap followed a similar script as SC4 completed the sweep with an 11–4 victory. The Skippers started off slower but pulled away with a four-run fourth inning followed by a three-run fifth and two-run sixth. The offense was led by Mason Golabek who went 2-for-2 with two runs, 3 RBIs, and two home runs. Dante Messina (3) and Danny VandeVyver also knocked in runs.
Pitcher Owen Hill led the way in Game 2, tossing five innings and striking out 10 batters while surrendering just one earned run. Andrew Kaski and Adam Sauer closed out the contest, preserving the sweep and capping off a complete team performance.
The Skippers return to action later this week when they play their last home game of 2026. Henry Ford will be in town on Saturday, May 2 for a 1:00 p.m. double header.
