Rochester, MI. — The Women's Track team competed over the weekend at the Elaine Leigh Invite, hosted by Oakland University. The two-day meet created prime opportunities for each Skipper to post top times.
On Friday night, Lillian Rutallie ran her second-best time in the 1500m. Rutallie crossed the line in 5:08.01
On Saturday, Kate Bennett, Julia Rogers and Lillian Rutallie teamed up to sweep their heat of the 800m race. The mid-distance trio took the top 3 places in their heat, finishing in 2:29.62, 2:30.53, and 2:30.95. Bennett's time snagged her a season best, while Rogers and Rutallie achieved personal records. The three are ranked #2, #3, and #5 in school history, respectively.
To end the meet, the Women's and Men's team had some fun, pairing up for a mixed 4x400m exhibition relay. The squad consisted of Jerry Westrick, Rogers, Korbyn Thornton, and Bennett.
The ladies spike up one more time at the Hillsdale College Tune-up on April 25th.
