Marysville, MI — The St. Clair County Community College softball team turned in a dominant performance Tuesday night, sweeping Henry Ford College in a doubleheader at home. SC4 earned an 8–0 shutout in the opener before completing the sweep with an 11–3 win in Game 2.

The Skippers set the tone early in the opener, scoring in four different innings and backing the offense with a strong performance in the circle from Lillian Osborne.

SC4 jumped out to a 2–0 lead in the first inning and added runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth to secure the shutout win. The Skippers totaled 10 hits in the game without committing an error.

Offensively, Olivia Borchardt had a big day, collecting a double and driving in two runs, while also stealing a base. Madison Raymo tripled and drove in a run, and Annabelle Schneider added a double and a stolen base. Jenna Maday, Taylor Turkin, and Lillian Osborne each recorded RBI as SC4 took advantage of timely hitting throughout the lineup. Katie Rusher also turned in a 2-for-3 day with 2 runs and a stolen base.

In the circle, Osborne was outstanding, going the distance with six shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out five to earn the win.

The nightcap saw SC4 erupt for 11 runs on 10 hits, highlighted by a decisive five-run fifth inning that broke the game open.

After Henry Ford plated three runs in the third, the Skippers responded immediately and never looked back. Jenna Maday delivered one of the biggest performances of the night, going 2-for-5 with a double and five RBI. Katie Rusher powered the offense with a home run and two RBI, while Madison Raymo added two RBI and two runs on a 2-for2 performance.
