RICHMOND, VA - The Skippers concluded their cross-country post-season on Saturday, November 9th. Acer Campbell, Ethan McCombs, Trent Glass, Vinny Schweihofer, Lance Kowalski, Dylan Schumann and Jax Giannosa ran their final 8k race of the season at Pole Green Park in Richmond, VA. The Skippers placed 12th out of 41 teams. The course consisted of four 2k loops before veering off to the finish line. All seven runners ran with confidence and integrity while proudly representing SC4.
Campbell led the Skippers, crossing the finish line in 26:23. Campbell's time earned him a 28th place finish amongst 315 runners and was his second fastest time of the season. McCombs finished close behind in a time of 26:46, taking 47th place. Glass ran as the team's third scoring runner for the first time this season. Glass ran a time of 28:06, taking 113th place. Schweihofer finished seconds behind Glass in 121st place, with a time of 28:13. Kowalski rounded out the top 5 scoring runners, taking 158th place, with a time of 28:35. Schumann and Giannosa both ran hard, posting times of 28:57 and 29:27 respectively. Schumann's time is a personal record by 13 seconds.
"I think that the team came out and gave a great race. We worked hard all season for this and we're all pretty happy with how things went. It's been an honor to run as a Skipper for as long as I have and I hope that the runners who come in behind me appreciate the team as much as I do." said sophomore runner Ethan McCombs.
The Skippers will take a short break from training before gearing up for the indoor track season.
