PORT HURON, MI- Three St. Clair County Community College Baseball players have been selected to the 2024 All-Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) teams. Sophomore catcher Joseph Parinello was named MCCAA Eastern Conference Honorable Mention. Freshman right handed pitcher Grant Bombe was awarded MCCAA Eastern Conference Honorable Mention honors, and freshman outfielder Hunter Filber rounded out the Skippers award winners also earning MCCAA Eastern Conference Honorable Mention.
Joey Parinello was the Skippers leader at the dish. He hit an impressive .325 with a .477 OBP and .506 slugging percentage. Parinello had 10 extra base hits including 2 home runs and tallied a team high 16 RBIs while socring 10 runs. He also showed great plate discipline all season with 22 walks to 22 strikeouts.
Grant Bombe showed a lot of promise in his first collegiate season. As a pitcher he made 8 appearances with 3 starts, throwing 34.1 innings. In those 34.1 innings he collected 36 strikouts for a 9.44 K/9 ratio and led the Skippers in ERA and WHIP.
Hunter Filber boasted an impressive freshman season. He played in all 36 games and led the Skippers with 13 runs scored and 33 hits. Filber also added in 10 RBIs, 5 stolen bases and a slashline of .287/.390/.330. All of this while patrolling centerfield and collecting 61 putouts and 5 assists.
